My game-changing moment was when I was in college: I was playing drums in a band for a large choir and also a smaller group made out of some of the best singers. We began a recording project and the first day in the studio while laying drum tracks the producer keeps telling me to hit the drums harder. I suppose I was a bit timid but was trying my best. He finally had enough......he walked into the red-painted drum room, told me to get up, CALLED ME A PANSY and he sat down and started WAILING on my drums to get the point across. It made me so mad!!! Needless to say I knocked out the rest of the drum tracks with a vengeance! That day was a game-changer. I ended the day with confidence and have been able to carry that with me throughout the years. I still talk to the guy to this day and thank him for calling me a pansy. That jerk.
