Leading a 10 soldier band through Kandahar, Afghanistan

About 3 quarters of the way through my career as a drummer in the US Army Band program, it was decided that bands were as important on the battlefield as on the parade field. The game changed for me when I found myself leading a 10 Soldier/Musician showband on a convoy through Kandahar, Afghanistan on our way to entertain troops that otherwise would never get this one small taste of home. With half the group securing the perimeter and the other half setting up to perform popular rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, and funk covers all while wearing 80 pounds of body armor... And then finally seeing the reaction of our fellow Soldiers! Not only a game changer, but a life changing experience!

Great Story!
I think this one is a winner!
I've Got One...
I want to submit MY game-changing moment.
