Simply put I love the quality of the products and the integrity of the people in the company. After I joined the P.D.T. program in 1996 I later ended up sending my teaching curriculum to the Vic Firth company to share what I was about as a teacher because I felt honored to be part of the Vic Firth P.D.T. education program. I think at that time it was sent by regular post mail in a hard copy… A few weeks went by and one day I got this voice message on my answering machine from Vic Firth himself saying he would call me back! Well he did call shortly thereafter and we spoke on the phone. He was calling me long distance from Chicago just to say hello and chat with me a bit. I was truly flattered and in awe to have him call me. We spoke for a few minutes and I told him how much I appreciated his calling me to say hi and the support that the company was giving us drum teachers at the grassroots’ level. He was a real gentleman. Well if that don’t take the cake as they say! True story. He never did make mention of the mail I had sent but I wonder if that is why he decided to call me direct. I never did get the chance to meet him personally but I’ll never forget that phone call from Vic.
