Bass 'n Drum, Stockholm
Bass 'n Drum, Stockholm is Sweden's premier bass guitar and drum event. Recently, Bass 'n Drum wrapped up its 3rd successful year featuring the groovemaster Zoro, Meshuggah's Tomas Haake (performing with fellow band member Dick Lövgren), Cradle of Filth's Adrian Erlandsson and the WikmanBylin Proyecto (an impressive drum duet featuring Sweden's Peter Bylin and Micke Wikman). Steve Smith Tala Wands
The Steve Smith Tala Wands were conceived when Steve began playing with drummers from India and needed a way to blend with their sounds - becoming sensitive to lower volume levels. The result was a unique implement, featuring a foam center surrounded by wooden dowels for great balance and rebound. Check out this week's podcast for a video of Steve performing with the Tala Wands at The Drum Pad's 20th anniversary.
Vic Firth Welcomes: Sam Aliano
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Sam Aliano began drumming at the age of four. In the 30 years since he picked up the sticks, Sam has built quite a successful career for himself, performing with artists such as Gongzilla, Prototype, Napoleon Murphy Brock and many others. In addition to these credits, Sam has served as the Musical Director for several media events including American Bandstand, Disco Inferno and The Sam Aliano Show Band.
