163 miles, 2 days.
A combination of current and former Vic Firth employees have joined together to take on the 2016 Pan-Mass Challenge as Team Vic Firth.
In July of 2015, Everett “Vic” Firth passed away at the age of 85 from Pancreatic Cancer. When Vic passed, members of the Vic Firth team not only lost their founder but a close friend and mentor as well. Organized by Tracy Firth, Vic’s daughter, Team Vic Firth has committed to biking from Wellesley, MA to Provincetown, MA, a 163-mile journey that will take the team 2 days to complete.
Established in 1980, the Pan-Mass Challenge raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. The 37th Pan-Mass Challenge will run through forty-six towns in Massachusetts and take place on August 6th and 7th, from three different starting locations in Bourne, Wellesley, and Sturbridge. The challenge will conclude after participants cross one of the five finish lines located in Foxboro, Wellesley, Bourne, and two locations in Provincetown.
One hundred percent of all raised proceeds are donated to adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.
Team Vic Firth will be riding in honor of Vic Firth. The team’s goal is to raise and donate $50,000 for this event.
