“Two Brazilian Steel Dances” by Ney Rosauro

“Two Brazilian Steel Dances” by Ney Rosauro

Performed by the Southern Miss Steel Pan Orchestra
Directed by Dr. John Wooton

ABOUT THE PIECE:

I) Interlude
II) Baião, Interlude
III) Samba (Partido Alto)

These two exciting pieces are a unique in the percussion literature. The first dance is a baiao in a fugue like form. The second is a samba partido alto. A calm interlude in tempo di valsa separates the two dances. A natural marriage of style and instrumentation, this work will add an extraordinary dimension to any steel band concert.
