Ian Grom

Ian Grom is a full time composer and educator whose artistic contributions extend into all seasons of the marching activity! Together with his work in the WGI arena – leading Chino Hills High School and Pulse Percussion to 6 World Championships – Ian’s efforts composing award-winning marching band shows and arranging for some of the world’s best DCI corps have cemented his reputation as one of the brightest minds in marching music today. Ian worked with the Cadets Drum and Bugle corps from 2009-2012 and joined the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps design team as the front ensemble arranger in 2013. He is also a co-founder of Box-Six.com, a website compiling original indoor percussion and marching band shows with fellow composer John Mapes.

“There are so many sound choices within Vic’s keyboard lineup,” states Grom. “Still, I felt there was room to expand the offering and create something totally new. Amplification plays a big role with my marching ensembles. I wanted to create a series that would generate a warm and dark sound, even at the loudest dynamic levels. And, we have done it – these mallets feel great and sound huge!”

The Ian Grom Signature Series features 8 models: 5 for marimba and 3 for vibraphone. All models share the same unique warm rubber core for a superior universal blend and even quality across the range of the instruments.
