Cote Fonceas career began in 1991 at age 16 as a guitarist of the prestigious Chilean band DeKiruza (Funk Soul, Latin). His relationship with drums and programming started the following years when the band recorded its second album œPresentes.
His development as a drummer is explosive. In 1994 he formed his own band, Dracma (winners of the 2001 MTV Viewers Choice Award). He has participated since then in various projects as a producer, drummer, engineer and executive producer in his own recording studio œEstudios Foncea. From 2001 to 2004 he worked as Head Music Producer for a company dedicated to the making of advertising music, TV series soundtracks, and recording multiple side projects as Session Drummer.
In early 2005, Cote assumed the role as the new drummer till this day, recording and producing 6 studio albums, 2 live DVDs. Their 11th studio album was released in 2017. Cote plays 2nd Guitar on live shows and in the studio.
In 2013 he received a call to play with one of his musical heroes and longtime friend Alain Johannes (Eleven, QOTSA, Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan, Them Crooked Vultures, PJ Harvey). The band is currently playing as Alain Johannes Trio and have plans to record new music and go on tour soon.
In late 2014 he was named Music Executive Producer for the TV show œThe Voice Chile. The show was number one for two years in a row.
During 2012 he formed his production company, Cote Foncea Producciones. He and his wife Marlla have been producing events and experiences for different kind of corporate clients since.
All these years he has been playing live shows and producing various types of music for TV and radio at his studio. He is currently producing and playing live shows with his bands Lucybell and Alain Johannes Trio.
