My name is Evan Taylor. I began drumming at a young age; an imaginative age where anything could be a drum or a pair of drum sticks. I studied a little bit, played in youth orchestras and bands but more importantly with my "garage band" on the NYC and Brooklyn scene. I have toured with Bernie Worrell, Jimmy Destri, King Tuff, and The Chapin Sisters as well as many other very talented musicians. Nowadays I spend most of my time as a producer. What makes me tick is when the rest of the band doesn't understand how catastrophic is it to lose a key or clutch. I can't reiterate enough how there is nothing funny about that situation.

What Drives Your Creativity?
Watching all musicians and the creative choices they make and you can't go wrong with getting to work on a beautiful song especially those heartbreaking ones. I will also take a compliment any day. I won't believe it but I'll appreciate the gesture. -
Why do you choose Vic Firth?
I really like my GB4 gong mallet. I really love touring with gongs. They're the earth-shattering alternative to hitting several crashes. I also experiment with my other mallets, sticks, and brushes for textures, swells, or more articulated rhythmic figures on the gong.
