The guitar opened the musical door for Paul at the age of 11 and despite being in love with the bass guitar, the drum kit became Paul’s true passion discovering them at the age of 12. With a blistering groove and a backbeat that could kill, he has become the firm favourite for many and similarly well known for his versatility.

He attended Salford of Technology studying Electronics at age 19 and was instantly wholly drawn into the college music scene meeting Ash Soan, Andy Treacey along the way who were also studying there, later on getting to know Mikey Wilson and Luke Flowers who all became major drumming influences of his at that time.

Whilst Paul was living in Manchester, Jungle and Drum n Bass in the 90s were the solid bedrock of the underground scene which he found himself fully immersed in and Manchester was also where he also scored his first major touring gig with the pop star sisters ‘Cleopatra’.

“We played at the old Wembley Stadium supporting The Spice Girls and to me, this felt like an extremely important turning point which led me to decide to relocate back to my hometown of London to concentrate on further exploring my love for work with singers and further develop that all important groove.”

Some of the people Paul has played for include Brian Jackson, Labrinth, Josh Milan, Audrey McGraw, Ibibio Sound Machine, Terry Reid, Jules Buckley Orchestra and Alison Moyet, Sigma, Rahsaan Patterson, Bamboo, Cleopatra and the late Don Blackman.

Paul’s ethos is that he’s committed to playing great music, no matter what the genre, all the while developing his craft to be able to speak completely freely on the kit with whichever medium, be it purely acoustically or with drum electronics.
