Changes in lacquer finish?

"Hey Vic Firth! I am a drummer using the 5As since 1993 and they never ever smelled of anything like lacquer or something else during playing. But recently i recognize a chemical smell that gets more intense while playing them. Even my hands smell of lacquer after using the sticks. That is really unpleasant and makes me uncomfortable using it. Have you changed the type of lacquer you use for the finish? Best Regards, Manuel / Austria"

"My biggest fear when I order any drumsticks online is that they’re going to come in when you roll them they’re warped. There’s a little tiny indications of some irregularity and imperfection not being perfectly straight but overall the sticks were not warped so I was pleased. I would order again!"
