The most versatile and useful drumsticks!

"Wrote a review on the SD9. I HAD to leave a review on these sticks! Before I got other pairs, these Freestyles were THE pair for me. Thicker than a 5A, the length makes me feel safe like I'm not about to hit my finger as it's 17 inches instead of 16, these sticks are durable for rimshots, I can hold them anywhere, hit hard, play fast, play chops, do stick tricks, everything! I really love these drumsticks. Super versatile, even better than a regular 5A! Five stars."

Love the new Freestyle 5A

"Love the new Freestyle 5A sticks so far. The extra length works well. I’m 78 and still rockin’ VICS never let me down"

This batch was very unbalanced

"Usually when I buy the Freestyle 5a’s the gram weight of each sticks sits around 60g but this entire last order was in the low 50g’s and not a single pair was correctly matched by weight"

The real extended 5A stick

"They feel like a not too bigger 5A stick but have a much longer taper! # VicFirth #sweepstakes"

My new favorite sticks

"They feel light like maple and the extended length makes a big difference for both reach and expanded fulcrum area. I'd call it more forgiving and for someone with limited range of motion from back issues, they are just easier to play. I have 30+ different pairs of sticks and I bet I could identify these blindfolded. They feel faster and are easier to play with more dynamics and good grip. They do seem to tear up a little faster than others but that may just be because I play them more and at around $10 Street... Who cares."

Great stick for a singing drummer needing reach.

"I purchased this stick to be my main gigging stick for a Blues Band I am presently playing with. We are the House Band at a local tavern, playing blues and rock outside on a patio setting. I am playing on a Taye Go Kit which is amplified with Sennheiser mics, so I don't have to hit especially hard. These sticks are perfectly balanced to be able hold them a bit higher when I require a reach on the top most reaches of my ride cymbal ( for effect), but still allow for a great "crack" when using my snare rims for a bigger sound, without sacrificing feel in the hand. The tip hits in the perfect spot. I have yet to test their durability, but I'm sure Vic Firth's usual quality will result in a decent life for a stick. I must add, that I sing lead behind the kit at times, and I don't have to worry about missing a stick hit when I pull back from the mic for effect. Very nice feature."
