My perfect stick

"I've been playing for many years and tried all sorts of sticks. I find the AS7A to be the perfect balance between durability, articulation and playability. The round head gives a nice bright attack on cymbals, and the thicker neck with the short taper gives strength where other sticks (with a longer taper) have worn quicker. The wear of the stick tends to come from the tip chipping before the neck splits, which is how I prefer it, as you have some warning when to bin the pair and and get some new ones out. They are fairly stiff when first played, I used them for Prog Rock, Funk and Jazz. I expect the heavier hitters would go through these pretty quick, but there is a bigger AS5A which I am yet to try."
