I am a drummer and proud of it. I have been playing since I was three. I have been blessed to be able to play around the country with many bands. I started playing "professionally" when I was 15 years old and am proud to still be affiliated with several groups. I started doing recording sessions in 1993 and continue to enjoy creating new music with many original artists. Since 1996, I have been playing and doing many recording projects with Dakota Road (www.daklotaroadmusic.com). In 2002, I joined Kory and the Fireflies (www.koryandthefireflies.com) and have enjoyed being a member of that band. Both bands play original music, so look for our music

In 2015 I started playing in more bands, while still working with Kory and the Fireflies and Dakota Road, and have been able to play many gigs with Dustin Evans and the Goodtimes Band, Brian Masek and Friends, JAS Quintet, My Revolution. In the fall of 2018 I started playing in a variety band named Bad Hamster. Now in 2019 we are called Rewinder and we play œcassetteœ era music.

I proudly use Vic Firth products and would like to thank the fine folks at Vic Firth for believing in me. Look for me on Facebook or Instagram and I thank you for your interest in me and my music.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I love being challenged by last minute calls to sub for a drummer. I’ve subbed in country bands, horn bands, and jazz groups. I had a sub gig at our Jazz and Blues festival with a jazz singer and I was required to play Brushes through most of the gig (not my comfort zone). I was nervous, until we started playing. I then realized we are all in this together and we had a great time making music happen. A highlight for me, because it was quite different that what I am known for.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

I am highly influenced by my hero’s, Steve Smith, Simon Phillips, Todd Sucherman, and my personal friend who has passed on, Mark Craney. I keep listening and watching and trying to continue to develop through studying with them in person and checking out the various materials that they have produced. Ultimately though, my drive comes from playing music with different musicians and the different styles they need from me.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

I started using Vic Firth when I was in school (more than 30 years ago) they have never let me down. I used to be a Drum Department Manager in my local music store so I had ample opportunity to try other things and those others never felt right to me.
