Alain Ackermann (b. 1994) is one of the top upcoming drummers from Switzerland. His musicality and stylistic versatility brought the talented drummer together with various artists from Switzerland and abroad, already in his young age. When he was 17, he played shows with the Jamaican singer Terry Lynn in Helsinki and Berlin, and when he was 18, shows with the Swiss pop-group TinkaBelle in Germany and Switzerland
When Alain was 20 “ he performed as a solo artist on the first Drum Festival Switzerland (with world-class artists as Thomas Lang/A, Mylious Johnson/USA, Gergo Borlai/UKR). Alain took his first drum lessons at the local music school when he was eight years old and later on at the Drum School Basel. One can quickly recognize his talent. At 10 years he was already playing his first shows and at the age of 15 years, he started to teach on drums himself.
After quitting school, Alain decided to turn his passion into profession and completed the preparation of studies at the WIAM JazzRockPop Academy in Winterthur. Then he studied at the Agostini Drum School Olten/Paris for the Diploma Superior PDS (DAE). After 2 1/2 years as a 19-year-old he had already finished the 4-year-old music studies with distinction œpermier prix avec felicitation. At the same time, he developed further at the renowned drum department in Stuttgart/DE with Stefan Scha¼tz and Daniel Messina.
Alain won several national drum contests, and at 17 years old won the Swiss Champion title for the third time in a row on the drum set.
