Anthony Johnson is a native New Yorker. He studied classical percussion and graduated from LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts (FAME school). He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Performance at New York University (NYU).
While attending NYU, Anthony joined the band 24-7 Spyz. He toured internationally with them and recorded three albums: Harder Than You, Gumbo Millennium and Temporarily Disconnected to critical acclaim.
Eventually, Anthony turned his talents to the theatre stage where he performed the lead role in STOMP, the popular Broadway hit show. He toured the US, Europe and Asia with Stomp and was an actor in the HBO film, œStomp Out Loud.
While the lead in STOMP, Anthony was recruited to be the drummer for the Japanese pop star BONNIE PINK and lived in Japan. He toured with her in the US and throughout all of Japan. He also recorded, co-produced on a number of her albums such as Every Single Day: Complete Bonnie Pink, Just A Girl and the maxi single, Take Me In.
After Bonnie Pink, Anthony joined The Morning After Girls and did a US tour. Eventually, Anthony started to compose music for radio, film and TV including an episode of the TV series American Horror Story (Coven-Boy parts), which is currently on Netflix. Some additional artists Anthony has recorded, produced, performed or toured with are Charice, Eric Benet, Eagle Eye Cherry, Dave Wakeling, Chris stills, Morley Kamen, Dionne Farris, Vanessa Daou, Susan Cagle and Ben Jelen.
