I was born in Catskill, New York and began drum lessons at age 11at Coxsackie-Athens Central School with Harold Fredericks. I received a B.A. Degree at Albany State University and studied with Jack DeJohnette, Sam Ulano and have performed / recorded with Ahmad Jamal, Michael Bolton, Janis Ian, Larry Coryell ,Vicki Sue Robinson, Michael Bolton, Joe Beck and played off broadway productions of "Phantom of The Opera", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "ELLA. I lived in England for a year playing and studying voice at the London School of Singing with Arnold Rose. I have been married once to Joanne for 30 years and have to daughters. I teach privately and at Greens Farms Academy. In 2019 I will be hosting my 30th Annual Holiday Party collecting toys for kids. My Bass Drum Lift invention is now an Evans product.
Most memorable Next-Level PerformanceAhmad Jamal at Regatta Bar in Boston. My 2nd performance with Ahmad 2 days after Carnegie Hall. Ahmed told me I played Poinciana, his signature song, better than his favorite drummer.
What Drives Your Creativity?Listening and watching performers especially of different genres including dance, as well as my students.
