Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!

At the age of 16 I started touring with my first band called A Bridge To Many. We played Punk Hardcore music and had the opportunity to play a few shows around Europe in a DIY way. At 18, while I was still studying, I was asked to join a band called 8Control, which was a Hardcore / Metal band from my town.

We toured around France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium and UK.

After a while we decided to create a new band with the same members, called Black Knives. We recorded our first EP in 2012, and played a few shows around Europe. Then I finally had my exams and started to get really interested to the recording process of music. So I took lessons on the internet by myself and at 20 I built my own home studio, recorded a few bands, and my band's album. These two last years have been about playing as much music as I could with my ex-band. To learn and improve my recording skills and record bands.

One of my main goal has always been to join a touring band, since I also love to travel. That dream became true in December 2015 when the guys from Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! contacted me after seeing my drum covers on YouTube. I've learnt their songs within a month, drove to Paris and went on tour with them the next month. We toured all around the world, did hundreds of shows and I clearly realized my childhood dream.

Now that we have stopped touring intensely I'm am focusing more on the production side of music, I am working in a recording studio alongside with Bert my singer, recording, mixing and producing bands. Other than that, my other passions are surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. I've always been into extreme sports and it really makes me feel alive when I'm on a board.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Probably when we played big festivals with my band such as Download in UK or Vans Warped Tour. Playing alongside with bands I grew up listening to was such an incredible experience.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

A good song and a good production!

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

I've probably tried every stick on the market, but once I have played on the Hickory 5A, I knew I'd never go back to anything else again! Having such a big name in my hands is actually such a huge motivation to play the drums!
