Seattle percussionist Davey Brozowski has enjoyed an extensive career as a musician, a drum technician and as the touring "drummcusionist" for Grammy-nominated indie rock band Modest Mouse. In between tours he creates bombastic beats and frenetic, jazz-inspired soundscapes under the monikers Dizzy Dizzy Moonshake and Rufus Canis. Incorporating his love of visceral acts like The Stooges and the Misfits along with the avant-garde stylings of Can and the Beach Boys, Brozowski combines the raw energy of punk with the rhythmic ingenuity of krautrock and '60s pop. His compositions are full of improvisational flourishes mixed with jolts of youthful energy.
Most memorable Next-Level PerformanceAnytime I can turn my brain off and just play is always a next level experience. It's not easy to do at times but, when it happens the high can last for quite some time.
What Drives Your Creativity?Taking a break and stepping away from playing is the most inspiring. It undoes bad habits and opens the door for new ideas and ways to approach a song.
