Dean is a former instructor and award winning, honors graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. Along with his years of experience in the Los Angeles music scene, Dean has performed on tours of the United States and overseas.
He has appeared in œModern Drummer and œDrum magazine and has written articles for œDrum Tracks and œJazz Exodus publications. His LA recording experience includes working on several film and television projects including ABCs œDancing with the Stars, films for the Showtime movie network, television commercials and NBC television.
During his tenure with the Los Angeles œSwing Kings Dean had the opportunity to perform with: Merv Griffin, Cybill Shepard, The Osmond Brothers, The Mills Brothers, Don Rickles, Members of the Brian Setzer Orchestra and many more. Dean has also recorded and/or performed with Grammy Award Winning Artists Louie Ortega and John Laird, Robbie Krieger, Kenny Lee Lewis (Steve Miller Band), Greg Smith (The Eagles), Lee Thornberg, Greg Adams and Mic Gilette (Tower of Power), Danny Pelfrey (Carole King), Becky Barksdale (Michael Jackson), Jeff Richman, Pat Kelley, Mark Ross, Noel Webb and more.
