Brasil is my country, and I live in Rio. I started playing drums in 1977, and recorded my first album in 1982 for Opus/Columbia. With this band, BARaƒO VERMELHO, I've recorded 17 CDs, DVDs. Long-Plays, compacts and cassette-records. I still play in this band, and we tour a lot around here. I have two solo albums recorded, ALIMENTAR (2011), and BEM (2016), and mean to finish my third, CAOS (2019), next semester. I have a music school in Rio called Maracatu Brasil, and I teach children from 12 to 18 in a poor community called Mara in Rio. My life is music! Ive played Zildjian cymbals since 1991, and Vic Firth sticks since 1996. God bless you all.

Most memorable Next-Level PerformanceI've played along the, last 40 years around my big country Brasil, played in europe, in North America, and in South America. That was all the stuff, we dreamed to happen with us. I love to be on the road and playing my drums in this, fool non stop tour!
What Drives Your Creativity?I live in a country blessed by rythms diversity. My music today is the mix from my rock experience along quite 40 years in the same band and when i opened my music school MARACATU BRASIL in 2.000, and learned more from brazilian music and batucada. Nowadays i am apt to give a samba batucada clinic, and put everybody playing together the hotest rythm of the world, samba!
Why do you choose Vic Firth?i choosed Vic Firth, because Vic Firth had choosed me!
