HARALD TANSCHEK was born in Graz, Austria. He graduated from the Jazzacademy in Graz 1996 and moved to Boston USA, to study at Berklee College of Music. There he went on to establish his American base for current and future projects. Currently based in Vienna-Austria, Tanschek is working with projects in the United States and all over Europe with such artists as Hal Crook, Chico Freeman, Rick Beckham, Bob Brookmeyer, George Garcone, Howard Alden, Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Clark Terry, Lee Konitz, James Morrison, Aki Takase, VooVoo, Andy Middleton, Steve Logan, Joachim Mencel, Doug Johnson Trio, Grace Kelly, Phil Woods, Jose Ritmo y Cacao, Martin Lubenov Orkestar, Airbass, Richard Oesterreicher, Kris Jefferson, Gina Schwarzs Jazzista and numerous other on-going music related ventures.
