He is also a graduate of The Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. A graduate in Jazz Composition, he is the leader of his own groups, The HenJoSal Trio featuring Berklee Professors Joe Santerre on bass and Sal DiFusco on guitar. He also leads the Jazz Fusion group World News.

As a course designer for Berklee, he became a sought-after expert in formulating some of the most successful programs at the college. His expertise with an enormous amount of styles earned him a prestigious and rare full-time appointment as Professor. He filled the position at Berklee that was previously held by the legendary drummer Mike Mangini (Dream Theater). Henrique is in charge of developing, teaching, publishing, maintaining and enhancing Berklee courses related to Pop/Rock, double bass studies, Brazilian music, Afro-Cuban music, Jazz, drum set chart reading, snare rudimental and orchestral reading, the Moeller technique, polyrhythms, brushes, and many other areas of studies.
