Composer, arranger, classical percussionist and jazz player, Igor Caiazza collaborates since 2008 with Teatro Alla Scala of Milan, he was Principal Percussionist of Mahler Chamber Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado.
Currently he is an Independent Artist, Professor at Conservatory of Potenza, endorser for Yamaha Music Europe, Zildjian Cymbals Company and Vic Firth.
Igor Caiazza collaborates with Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, Orchestra and Filarmonica del Teatro Alla Scala, Orchestre National De France, Wiener Symphoniker, Philhamonia Orchestra, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and he has performed around the world with Abbado, Muti, Boulez, Maazel, Barenboim, Mehta, Pretre, Gergiev, Gardiner, Pappano, Dudamel, Gatti, Harding, Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Lang Lang, Leonidas Kavakos, Bobby McFerrin, Placido Domingo, Josè Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Stefano Bollani and many others, recording several CD and DVD for Decca, Sony Music and RAI labels.
Igor was Percussion Teacher of Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy in Barcelona, Germany and Australia, and has regularly held Masterclasses at NRW Orchesterzentrum in Dortmund (Germany). On 2016 he was Percussion Teacher of XVII Gustav Mahler Academy of Bolzano (honorary president Claudio Abbado), and Percussion Tutor of Jové Orquesta Nacional de Catalunya (JONC) in Barcelona for a couple of year.
He also played with Andrea Bocelli, Rondò Veneziano, Mika, Zucchero, Elio (from Elio e le Storie Tese), Nicola Piovani, Karima, Fabrizio Bosso, Tullio De Piscopo, Javier Girotto, Nico Gori, Marco Zurzolo, Julian Oliver Mazzariello, Claudio Filippini, Alessandro Lanzoni, Mauro Ottolini, Gabriele Evangelista, Amedeo Ariano, Jacopo Ferrazza, Luca Bulgarelli, Giovanni Amato, Antonio De Luise, Tommaso Scannapieco, and others.
