JD Beck (born May 3rd, 2003) is a young drummer, composer and producer from Dallas, Texas. JD Beck is a 16-year-old Drummer/Producer from Dallas, TX. He began playing classical piano at age 5 and soon developed an interest in all things musical. Although he continues to play all instruments, the drums are his primary love. At age 11 he was discovered at a local jam session by Grammy winning producer Jamal Cantero Erykah Badu aka Jah Born. JD began posting short clips of his playing to Instagram in early 2017, and has gained a large following since then. Over the years he has had the opportunity to play with some of the worlds best musicians including members of Snarky Puppy, Thundercat, Erykah Badu, MonoNeon etc. He has developed a sound with his drums that can cover a wide range of musical genres and has recently become heavily involved with music production. JD also records drums for producers and artists like, knxwledge, Skrillex, MXXWLL, etc. He is currently working on an album with keyboard phenom DOMi.
JD Beck's main project is his collaboration with keyboardist DOMi. They met at NAMM in January 2018 and started the project immediately after by posting videos of them together on Instagram. They caught the attention of Questlove, Anderson Paak, Flying Lotus, Robert Glasper and Thundercat. In 2018, they've done tours opening for KNOWER and Louis Cole as well as performances around the US & Europe. In 2019, they are going on tour with CHON as their guest artists. They can also be found with bass player MonoNeon in their trio "Whateva the Fyuck". DOMi & JD Beck are currently recording their first album that will be released late 2019.
