Jean-Philippe FANFANT is from Guadeloupe in the French Caribbean. He comes from three generations of great musicians. One of the top studio drummers and performers in France, he is a co-leader of the group Sakasho (Andy Narell Pan-Mario Canonge Piano-Michel Alibo bass) and has recorded more than 400 albums with artists such as Kassav, Angalique Kidjo, Mario Canonge,Ayo, Andy Narell, Ralph Thamar, Toura Kunda, Philippe Lavil, Dada st Prix, Laurent Voulzy, Julien Clerc, Patrick St Eloi, Bernard Lavilliers, Christophe Maa, Tania Maria.
He plays with STING on French TV Show (Taratata live). He is the official drummer of TV show « THE VOICE » in France. He is the author of drum method book published by Sher Music: Afro Caribbean Grooves for Drumset by Jean Philippe Fanfant.
