Jost Nickel is one of the new breed of drummers emerging from Germany. A top session and tour player and drum clinician, like his friends and contemporaries Benny Greb, Marco Minnemann and Anika Nilles (one of Josts students).
Jost was nominated œBest Clinician by Modern Drummer Magazine in 2016 and was voted on MusicRadars list of œthe 10 best drum clinicians in the world in 2016 & 2017.
He has released two best-selling books through Alfred Publishing: œJost Nickels Groove Book (2015) and œJost Nickels Fill Book (2017), which was nominated œbest educational product 2019 by Modern Drummer Magazine.
