I started playing drums in the North East Bronx, playing in local bands such as Spice. My first professional gig was with Larry Young the jazz organist. I continued to work with other jazz artists such as Herbie Mann, Gato, Barbieri, Robin Kenyatta, Roy Ayers, Micheal Franks, Jon Lucien and Herbie Hancock. I worked with great R&B and gospel singers: Cissy Houston, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Soul Stirrers, Pops Staple, Etta James, Martha Wash and Phyllis Hyman. Rock artists I worked with: Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Micheal McDonald, Rob Dupree, Chrisse Hynde, Boz Scaggs, B-52s and Shawn Colvin.
