Drummer and vibraphonist Lewis Wright started learning music at an early age and has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting and versatile musicians in the UK. He has worked with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Melody Gardot, Michael Kiwanuka, Joss Stone and many others, as well as composing for his own solo projects and forward-thinking group Empirical. Equally at home on vibraphone and drums, he has played in a variety of musical situations from jazz to soul, contemporary classical to film scores.

Most memorable Next-Level Performance
I can't honestly think of one moment in particular but I believe there are lots of small moments where you can feel an improvement in some area or another. The most memorable moments for me are the times I've had strong connections with other musicians on stage. You can feel that and an audience can too. -
What Drives Your Creativity?
All kinds of things. Music, books, film..anything that takes creativity to produce. Also just being inquisitive and using your imagination. -
Why do you choose Vic Firth?
I love the consistency from pair to pair and the range of sticks Vic Firth make. At the moment, I'm playing the Extreme 5as because they are such a great all-rounder for me. Whether it's big stages with loud instruments or small stages and acoustic music, they always help me make the sound I'm after.
