Luis Hernandez

Luis has toured as Ricky Martin's drum technician and worked on the David Letterman Show, the Today Show, Miss Universe, Wango Tango and more. He began studying music at the age of 21 and quickly dominated his craft. Luis studied drums and percussion with Freddy Santiago (Chaka Khan, Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, Chick Corea) and the late great drummer and jazz educator Jim Chapin.

Luis joined the U.S. Army in 2002, went from the drums and big arenas and recording studios to the US infantry, where he was deployed with 1-22 infantry battalion, 2003 during and with Operation Iraqi Freedom. After coming back to the rear, he joined  the 4th infantry Division of the United States Army Band, nation in Ft. Hood,(Now Ft. Cavazos)

After completing his military obligation, Hernandez returned to acting as a session and live musician and developed his skills as a lecturer. As such, he is proud to emphasize not only the technique but also to impart valuable lessons of physics, ethics and professionalism to his students and peers.
