My career in music has spanned over 3 decades, and Ive had the good fortune to travel the world performing and recording with many great artists, playing a wide variety of styles. With versatility as the foundation of my career, Ive made the drum chair my home with a number of venerable artists, including Jeff Lorber, Freddy Cole, Bobby Lyle, Andy Milne, Jennifer Holliday, Ruben Studdard, Steve Coleman, Fertile Ground, Ruth Naomi Floyd, Paul Jackson, Jr., and many more.
Most memorable Next-Level PerformanceBeing hired by Jennifer Holliday to hold down the drum chair for 2 sold out runs of the broadway smash, Dreamgirls was pretty awesome. It’s a notoriously rigorous drum book that rarely lets up, and calls on all of one’s skills - reading, dynamics and stamina. You have to stay connected the entire time.
What Drives Your Creativity?Music is the greatest healing force in the world. Second to the human voice, the drums is the most elemental instrument there is. I’m honored to be a musician, and to be an instrument of healing and inspiration.
Why do you choose Vic Firth? The legacy of quality and innovation is undeniable, unmistakable and unparalleled. My first pair of sticks was made by Vic Firth, and the same will be true of my last.
