As a performer, session player, instructor, producer and clinician, Matt Crowning is more than a "drummer's drummer. He is a "musician's drummer" that brings a wealth of talent, experience, and style to each situation. Matt's diverse performance background ranges from Country, Pop, Rock, Big Band, Jazz and R&B. His work includes performances with various Curb Records, Disney Records / Disney Channel artists, Love and Theft, College 11, Kiki Sanchez, Vanilla Monk, Matt Farr and Kerrie Roberts. Currently, Matt is performing with Country Artist, Amber Leigh, on tour and in the studio. These shows include support act performances with Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins, Lady Antebellum, Gloriana and many others. Matt has over 15 years of teaching experience in the field of Percussion. His students learn a vast majority of skills including Drum Set, Concert Percussion, Mallet Percussion, Marching Percussion and World Percussion.
Originally from South Florida, Matt now resides in Nashville, Tennessee and is one of the Percussion Directors at Brentwood High School in Brentwood, TN. While in Florida, Matt was the Percussion Director at Spanish River High School and Atlantic High School, as well as, Omni Middle School, and Loggers Run Middle School. Under his direction, these scholastic ensembles have been awarded numerous awards and straight Superior ratings at percussion competitions, both in marching and concert percussion, at the District and State level. They are known for performing to the highest level of excellence.
His private students have proceeded to study percussion at some of the highest ranked music schools the country including, Berkley college of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Florida State University and the University of Miami, among others. Matt is also a Percussion Composer and Arranger with Rowl-Off Productions music publishing.
