A sought-after session drummer in the Americana scene, Matty brings a deep sense of groove and creativity to every project.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory and a former student of Joe Morello, his playing blends tradition with modern influences, making him a go-to collaborator for both studio recordings and live performances.

Serving the song. In a live setting, I love supporting my band and watching the crowd move, but in the studio, it’s all about the little things—finding just the right sounds for the tune. Sometimes that means not playing at all or playing very softly, resisting the urge to hit the crash when you want to. It’s not about me; it’s about the music and the people listening.
