Michael studied music, focusing on jazz, at Berklee College of Music and Leeds College of Music before moving to Manchester, UK, in 2007 to be part of art pop band Everything Everything. They have received widespread critical acclaim and in the UK have been nominated for the Mercury Prize twice and several Ivor Novello Awards, amongst others. As well as playing festivals such as Glastonbury several times, they have toured all over the world, including Europe, Japan, Russia, China, America and Australia. Everything Everything have had one top 10 album and two top 5 albums in the UK.

Most memorable Next-Level Performance
Glastonbury 2015. It was a hot, sweaty tent and a rush to get onstage but the crowd were incredible; electric. It felt like the songs were playing themselves and it was all about that connection with the crowd. -
What Drives Your Creativity?
Drummers such as Elvin Jones, John Bonham, Brian Blade, Greg Saunier, who are so honest with their playing. Music, of course, but also art, books, movies. As long as they come from an honest place then it's inspiring to me. -
Why do you choose Vic Firth?
I grew up playing Vic Firth products and have always loved them. The quality is incredible and extremely consistent. I trust them completely.
