Rodrigo (M.M., 2003) has performed and/or recorded in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the U.S. with many well-known jazz artists such as Eddie Gomez, Fareed Haque, Alex Mercado, Frank Caruso, Daniel Wong, Stefan Karlsson, Ed Saindon, Hiro Morozumi and Craig Butterfield to name a few.

As an educator Rodrigo has presented clinics and workshops at many institutions in Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Korea, Singapore, Japan and the U.S., and has been featured artist/clinician at many international conventions and conferences such as the International Association for Jazz Education, the Jazz Education Network, the Percussive Arts Society, and the International Band and Orchestra Midwest Clinic. He is currently a Full Professor of jazz studies at Northern Illinois University. Rodrigo performs regularly with his jazz trio and quartet, the Eddie Gomez Trio, the NIU Jazz Faculty Group Nucleus, Anders Svanoe Trio, and Robert Chappells Panoramic.

    Playing with the Eddie Gomez Trio featuring Stefan Karlsson at Studio 222 in Fargo, ND. There was something magic during the whole performance, I felt I was able to communicate with the legendary jazz bassist, Eddie Gomez and his pianist, Stefan Karlsson, at a level I have not experienced before.
