Roger 'Kemp' Biwandu

Roger 'Kemp' Biwandu

Born in France, on Christmas day, with roots from Democratic Republic of Congo, Roger fell in love with the drums of the late '70s with the music of The Police and Toto. Then jazz/rock came to his ears with Weather Report, Mahavishnu, and during the '80s and beginning 90's, the guys from Pittsburgh came into Roger's life. Those guys are named Jeff "Tain" Watts and Vinnie Colaiuta, and all changed from there. Roger's drumming comes from those guys and his African roots. Roger has played with Joe Zawinul, Salif Keita, Marcus Miller, John Beasley, Frank McComb, Lee Ritenour, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and so on.
