I started drumming at age ten, but got serious after watching Buddy Rich from the front row at the WI State Fair in 1972, and seeing Carl Palmer's epic drum solo on Karn Evil 9 at Cal Jam 1974. I'm also greatly influenced by classical music and the rhythmic sounds of nature.

What Drives Your Creativity?
I write nearly all the music and lyrics for my band Tourniquet, so to fit the drums within that is always a blast. We've been blessed with great fans around the world who always look forward to new music. My passion for classical music, my faith, and my love for animals and nature always drives my creativity. -
Why do you choose Vic Firth?
Every time I'm ready to break in a new pair of Vic Firth sticks, I know they will be top notch in every way: perfectly balanced, consistent, A+ construction - and always sourced and manufactured in an environmentally responsible fashion.
