Music has always been a grounding force in my life. I've always loved it and it always made whatever was tough or scary in my life at the time...go away. I have an early memory (and I'm not making this up) but when I was very little I can remember sidling up to our console stereo and pressing my ear up against the speaker....I loved the feel and sound of the bass. I guess timpani was a natural fit.
