Rhythm is a primal element of my childhood, internalizing the tapping of the feet of my mother. I later picked up the drum set as my secondary instrument, coming from a traditional hand-drum background. Thus, I took lessons in drum rudiments and music theory to get grounded. Eventually, I got busy with professional music, recording and performing with different artists, such as Carolyn Malachi, Femi Kuti, Vieux Farka Toure, Spyro Gyra, Arturo O'Farrell, and many others from pop to heavy metal, classic rock to bebop. Laying solid groove behind a band's composition is a thing of passion for me.
