My musical journey began in middle school where I played an assortment of percussion for the school band. I made snare when I auditioned in high school, becoming drum captain the last two years, which led to my mother purchasing a full kit for me. I continued playing concert band into college, where I met the guys that I would form a band with that is still together to this day. While they convinced me to adapt a reggae style in the band, my personal tastes lie more in hard rock drumming which I incorporate as well.
Most memorable Next-Level PerformancePlaying our first sold out show at Red Rocks was an "aha moment". Looking up at the crowd and keeping my composure while having fun with the experience was an incredible feeling.
What Drives Your Creativity? The indie rock scene is constantly providing new and interesting music for my ears. Besides that, watching Dino Campanella play is always an inspiration for me. If you can play drums and piano simultaneously you're a genius in my book.
Why do you choose Vic Firth? The feel and consistency of the sticks never fails me; I was first drawn to the shape of the tip for its expression and dynamics. Also, the variety of sonic options Vic Firth provides means there will always be a comfortable choice for different musical applications.
