Dave Tedeschi

Postmodern Jukebox/Independent

At the age of nine Dave Tedeschi convinced his parents to buy him a snare drum and, from that point forward, Dave knew that he wanted to be a musician. Through the encouragement of his family - including his grandmother Audrey Olsen, a legendary choral director and piano teacher - he graduated from the Eastman School of Music and then landed in New York City in 2009. Over the past ten years, Dave has become known for his musicality, versatility and improvisational prowess.

When not on the road with Postmodern Jukebox, Dave performs with his band People Vs. Larsen and maintains a busy schedule as a sideman both in the studio and in live situations. On top of performing, Dave also finds great joy in teaching private lessons and clinics to musicians of all ages.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I have been fortunate to play at some iconic venues alongside Postmodern Jukebox. Radio City Music Hall in New York City, The Sydney Opera House and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles are all on the top of the list. The thread that ties them all together is the fact that Vic Firth sticks were in my hands during each performance!

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

Spending quality time listening to great music and time in nature. Right now I am digging into James Gadson, Jay Bellerose and Mark Guiliana.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

They are the best feeling sticks I have ever played. The consistency is second to none and VF is always coming up with new ideas. I am so inspired by how the company is run and grateful to be part of the family.
