Born in Richmond, California to a gospel musician mother, Brown was introduced to music in the womb, where she says he would kick to the beat. He started drumming at two years-old in church and began his formal jazz education at 10 with the Young Musicians Program at the University of California and later Berkeley High School. Encouraged to attend Juilliard after being awarded a full scholarship, he moved to New York in 2004, but withdrew on the first day of classes to pursue a life-changing career experience over education. Brown has been learning from and playing with some of the worlds greatest musicians. Aside from his most notable contributions, hes also been tapped to round out the sound for Ambrose Akinmusire, Thundercat, Gerald Clayton, and many others. In 2018 Brown released his debut Album NYEUSI.
