Lang Zhao is a drummer, producer, and author living in Los Angeles.

Growing up playing classical piano, Lang later discovered his love for drums at a big band jazz performance while he attended an international youth music festival. After learning about drum set basics, Lang started to teach himself by watching and learning Mike Portnoys DVDs. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a professional drummer, he has been instructed by master drummers including Rob Carson, Matt Garstka, and Mark Guiliana.

Lang draws inspirations from various music genres and enjoys exploring sound through playing drums and writing music. Lang is the drummer and co-producer of his instrumental prog band The Resonance Project. In 2019, the band released their first self-titled album and has been praised for its masterful songwriting and performances from listeners worldwide and media including Prog Magazine, Drumhead, Billboard Japan, and many more. Lang is also known for his versatile session works for movies, live shows, and studio recordings.

Lang has published two books: An Analytical Approach to Linear Applications, and An Analytical Approach to Mind-Body Connection. Both books were ranked no.1 on Amazons music-related books category new release within 24 hours. Besides sharing his knowledge and experience through writing, Langs commitment to education continuers with clinics and online contents.
