Both my older brothers are drummers so I was influenced at a young age to play drums. My mom was a single mother and very cool about us playing drums in the house. She let us move all the furniture out of the living room and set our drum kits up and play. I'm sure she thought it was better that than us getting into trouble while she was at work. My brothers taught me how to hold my sticks, read music when I was about 6. I played in concert, marching and jazz band in school. I was lucky enough to be picked to be Florida All State Jazz band drummer in high school. I started playing with bands in clubs at 15. At 19, I moved to Houston (lived in my car) and got an audio engineering intern gig. I worked at several recording studios as an engineer and drumming on sessions. I also played lots of clubs in town. I later moved to LA and started playing around pretty soon after I got in town. Ive played with various artists (see website), and have been doing the Three Dog Night gig for 26 years and running RDS recording. I never thought I'd have the same gig for this long. Having a consistent gig allows me to do so many things that I love “
Engineering and producing bands, helping younger drummers get great sounds for recording projects.
