Most memorable Next-Level PerformanceMy most memorable performance has to be the Ultimate Drummer’s Weekend festival in Melbourne Australia in 2010. I played some songs from various bands I’ve been in, and brought a few chapters of “On the Beaten Path” to life. After the festival, Steve Smith, Pete Lockett, Derek Roddy, Rick Latham and some other awesome drummers all hung out together and shared stories and tips, and a lot of laughs. Is was a magical time.
What Drives Your Creativity? The song drives everything. Songs can bring out ideas I’ve never played before, and call for sounds that may be new to me. It’s both challenging and fun to chase the sounds that are in my head and try to make them come alive on the kit. It’s all about the song.
Why do you choose Vic Firth? For over 30 years, every time I’ve picked up a pair of sticks, they’ve been Vic Firth’s. I love the way they feel, and the matched pairing ensures an even sound with both sticks. The quality is unmatched and they’re just the best sticks you can get.
