Rodrigo Rios first encounter with music was at 4 years old when he was given his first guitar. He took to the instrument so naturally that it has been integrated into his daily life ever since. At age 13, Rodrigo had his first exposure to the drums, and the same occurred. He began his music studies, and when he was only 15 he was admitted to the Brazilian Federation of Musicians. In his quest for musical advancement Rios studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and also with internationally-acclaimed drummers: Gregg Field, Joe Porcaro, John “JR” Robinson and Kim Plainfield.
In the beginning of his career, Rodrigo amassed considerable experience from performing on the night scene. Later on, his focus lies on specific musical styles such as Pop, Jazz, R&B which has led him to perform alongside distinguished
music artists all over the world. Becoming a L.A studio drummer was naturally.
Rios is a Brazilian native that resides in Los Angeles. Not only a highly respected musician, Rodrigo is a busy record/music producer and music director. His credits as a producer, music director and drummer are tremendous. Rodrigo has been working with iconic artists over the years like Johnny Mathis, Dionne Warwick, Kurt Elling, Armando Manzanero, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kenny Lattimore, Freda Payne, Siedah Garrett, Joe Satriani, Monica Mancini, Nathan East, Abraham Laboriel Sir., Greg Phillinganes, Wé Mcdonald, Renee Olstead, Patti Austin, Lee Ritenour, Lari Basilio, Leila Pinheiro, Roberto Menescal, Isabella Taviani, Daniel Boaventura and many others.
