best stick ever

"These have been my preferred sticks for years, the thicker diameter helps with control but the maple wood keeps them from feeling too bulky. And the long taper makes for great rebound. The name Slammer makes them seem like a heavy rock stick but I use them for jazz. So does jazz star Billy Drummond. It looked like Vic Firth had discontinued them for a while, but they're back and I'm glad of it."

They just feel great - Like power steering

"They just feel great - like power steering. I play jazz, I play in a Jimmy Buffet Band and a Pretenders band - these sticks feel great (all night) for every situation and room size. Really kind of crazy. The maple is great on the finger joints and provides that comfy diameter without weight. Nice cross-stick, too. Thanks for keeping these in stock!!!"

My All-Time Favorite Stick

"These are simply perfect for me. They were my go-to years ago, and I can play ANYthing with them. The tapered tip is perfect for jazz cymbal articulation, they feel great with any grip, and if you want real power, just turn them around and let ‘er rip! Thank you for bringing them back, Vic Firth!!! 👍👍🙏🙏🥁"

Deceptively Named…

"This stick is a real sleeper. It has great rebound, gets a beautiful sound on cymbals and gives you something to hold onto without being terribly heavy. It’s really like a beefed up version of an old time Big Band drumstick. It’s a great sound being stick for Rock Funk and Pop as well.… As long as you’re not beating the crap out of them. So, in the end, I find it odd to call such a beautiful SOUNDING stick The Slammer. Unless someone named it while sitting in jail… That seems like a stretch, though."

Jazz stick

"Still have a pair from The late 70s. Great feel for jazz ride. Think Tony and Jack. Want a fresh pair."

SD11 Slammer Drum Sticks

"The SD11 have been my favorite sticks for years! I'll buy a few pair at a time and usually end up giving a pair away once I let another drummer play them. I WILL buy them over and over again! A few pair at a time, of course."
