Do you need more speed & precision but not volume?
"Vintage Drum Expert John Aldridge talked about a pair of sticks made over 75 years ago that were nicknamed the "Moeller" sticks, after Ludwig Drum Company author Sanford A. Moeller. Aldridge described the sticks as: "Having a very gradual taper so as to make them more whip-like". That description would apply to these SD5 sticks. If you are playing a rudimental piece at 120 BPM, switch over to these sticks and you will be able to execute the same figures at 130 BPM. These sticks create a greater fulcrum because there is a lot less material in the shoulder up front. Ideal for situations where you need speed and precision in lieu of volume, like symphonic band and orchestra."
