Versatile and durable!

"By most accounts, heavy lacquer is one of those finishes that if you like it, you can’t live without it! The Keith Carlock stick is a perfect model, highlighting the back-weight for when you need to dig in, but a fine point on the tip and thin neck/long taper that makes more sensitive styles comfortable to play. I find these sticks to be an excellent choice for versatile drummers who play jazz and rock and don’t want to switch stick models based on the music they play. These just work for everything. A final note, the compressed bead tip is one of the most durable in the line up of Vic Firth offerings. Having used these sticks for a number of years now, I can think of no occasion that the tips chipped or softened."

My new favorite!

"I've been a fan of the Peter Erskine models but always needed an extra product to prevent the sticks from getting away from me. The heavy lacquer does the trick. It's a great feeling stick. I play mostly jazz and it works great with excellent rebound."

Been looking for this feel since Regal went under

"Been playing with Regal for 45 years, most recently Jazz size - they are no longer available anywhere in any size for me. The coating on them keeps them in my hands, have tried SOOOOOO many others, none had similar coating, until I got turned on to the Keith Carlock sticks. The VF DoubleGlaze are close, but they don't make any with the long taper that the KC sticks have. Still on my first pair, and the tips seem like they may be the weakest part of the sticks, but a few hours in at practice, they are holding up well and are giving me enough chunkiness on the cymbals, so these will be my new go-tos. Would love a nylon tip option, but maybe if I get as big as Keith, VF will make my signatures."
